Post-reared orangutan confiscation of illegally  resident  in Cilacap, Centre for Orangutan Protection (COP) indicated there are orangutans that are kept  illegally  in the territory  of Central  Java.

COP party claimed to have pocketed a list of names of people suspected of maintaining orangutan. However, follow-up on the list still have to wait for the results of verification of the Natural Resources Conservation Center (KSDA), Central Java.

According Dhaniek Hendarto, conservation specialist who led the team of the Centre for Orangutan Protection (COP), as protected animals, orangutans may not be maintained without a permit.
